Reviews of Mentimeter
Alternatives Considered:
A smart tool that looks slick but has some frustrating limitations
Comments: We like Mentimeter a lot. You can be up and running with it in minutes, and it takes literally seconds to create a typical wordcloud or other slide. It looks amazing to those answering the questions. There are downsides though and I hope future updates will add functionality and improve the experience for paying users.
Pros:
Mentimeter allows you to easily (very easily) create and launch live, interactive polls, surveys and quizzes and create cool things like wordclouds in real time. It has a really smooth mobile integration through the use of QR codes which is a killer feature in the modern age. We have frequently had "wow moments" in meetings, workshops and training sessions using Mentimeter as people see animated quiz standing come in in real time and the like. Zero learning curve from the users point of view and almost frictionless.
Cons:
It has a few limitations that make it less slick from the point of view of the person using it compared to the people answering the questions. It does not integrate well with Powerpoint. There is an outdated and never updated plug in which crashes all the time and thus unusable. The other option is to import your slides into Mentimeter and do the whole thing from there. This is not always advisable because animations are not preserved and the general look of the slides suffers. Without PPT integration, if you are running a remote session using Zoom or similar you are forcing people to navigate away from your window to use Mentimeter and then relying on them coming back to see the results come in in real time. It damages the experience tremendously. You get around this by showing QR codes and having them do it on their phones, but still, not ideal. Another issue is that moving or otherwise adjusting slide shows inside Mentimeter is a huge pain. Drag and drop to change the order of slides is basically broken, so me and my team always make sure everything is in order before importing (if we even use importing, see above). Even a no-integrated session with more than a few Mentimeter slides is a huge pain to adjust. Finally, although they claim that switching between say PPT and Mentimeter on the fly is easy, it inhibits you from easily and smoothly moving to the next question. Not ideal.
Mentimeter is a great survey tool!
Comments: Overall, I love mentimeter. It is a great tool and has helped boost out feedback culture!
Pros:
I love mentimeter! It makes it so easy to create engaging surveys - the templates with survey styles - like word clouds, ranking, and pie charts - are so helpful to be able to quickly produce engaging surverys
Cons:
I wish there was more customization available - even on the pro package you are limited by the layouts you can choose and where images can be placed on the slides
Menti, once a great product now practically useless
Comments: It was great from 2020 to 2023. It is now completely useless in 2024. Company refuses to issue a refund for my remaining balance of 2024 despite being a long-term user. Avoid at all costs!
Pros:
Quizzes used to be great, fun, engaging, and impactful before the degradation of the program in 2024
Cons:
In 2024 it is now completely useless. No more leaderboards for the quizzes (all my leaderboards from 3 years of saved quizzes have disappeared with no way to bring them back). In 2024, you are now forced to use templates that quite honestly suck beyond belief - they look like some a grade schooler would put together.

We're really sorry to hear about your experience with Mentimeter recently. We do still offer all of our Quiz features such as our Leaderboard, and our users can and are encouraged to create their own presentations from scratch (templates are only an option to help bring inspiration). We haven't received any similar reports to the problems you've described, and to our knowledge there are no issues with the quiz. If you could reach out to our dedicated support team at [email protected], we'd love if you could share any troubles you have experienced with our quiz so we can make sure this is investigated and corrected!
Mentimeter reduces barriers in the classroom
Comments: Love it - it's a wonderful pedagogical tool that helps me to connect with all of my students.
Pros:
I love that I can collect real-time responses from my students - quantitative and qualitative data. Allows my shy students to provide their voice in a non-threatening manner.
Cons:
I have the free version only so I'm limited on what I can do.
Mentimeter review
Pros:
Mentimeter provides a wide range of functionalities for live presentations. It allows to engage participants interactively.
Cons:
I have not noticed any major issues with Mentimeter so far.
After many years of loyalty, we can't suggest Mentimeter to anyone now...
Pros:
Interactivity was fantastic when we originally migrated to Mentimeter. Loves the creativity and ingenuity of the team.
Cons:
Their app recently stopped working properly: Because of a change the company made, audiences can't effectively use browsers to participate and vote during presentations. Sadly, their customer service folks responded with a fix may never come. So we can't keep investing all of our presentation materials on a platform that handles issues with longtime customers like this. This also means we are in the process of canceling not only our subscriptions but dozens of our clients that we help handle their tech purchasing. We can't stand behind companies that handle things like this. We stand behind companies even more than products, so we are sad to have this happen.

Thank you for bringing light to this issue. It’s disheartening to hear about the challenges you’ve faced, especially after the positive history you’ve had with our platform! I’m pleased to share that we’ve have now reverted the change, making it possible to use on browsers again. I understand that our team has reached out to you via email separately around solving this issue. Thank you once again for your support and flagging of this 🏆
Good start
Pros:
Mentimeter has a great on the spot survey/knowledge check feature.
Cons:
Price and limited features compare to Kahoots
Engaging and Easy to Use
Comments: A good user experience overall, plenty of features
Pros:
easy to use Flexibility Sharing with others Customisable Variety of layouts/options
Cons:
A bit hit and miss in integrating into ppt. Sometimes had to exit ppt and present from web browser
Excellent choice
Pros:
Create engaging, interactive, and collaborative presentations that drive audience participation and feedback is so easy with Mentimeter.
Cons:
Mentimeter requires a stable internet connection to function, which can be a problem if the connection is slow or unreliable. While Mentimeter offers a range of customization options, some users may find that the platform's design and layout limitations can be restrictive.
Great for presentations and training
Pros:
I like that it is easy to use, that it keeps on improving, it is essential for our training, whether we use it in person or online. I recommend it to everyone.
Cons:
I think it can keep innovating, and become a tool with other things, we use other tools like MIRO, MURAL or KAHOOT, and would rather have one platform for everything.
People might pay attention if you use mentimeter
Pros:
Mentimer is kind of the grandpa of all the audience interactive software and it shows because it's always smooth sailing. We love how quickly audience members can use it,even less tech savvy folks and the name recognition.
Cons:
It isn't as fancy as some other interactive apps (eg the date visualization is slightly more basic), if you need ALL the bells and whistles, you might need something else. Worked perfectly for our purposes.
Mentimeter for sharing ideas
Comments: If you do not need to many questions it is very usefull, the results are immediate and easily to be shared and seen
Pros:
Mentimeter is very usefull to share ideas, like create a word cloud and see results od polling or questions
Cons:
The free part of the program only permits to create only three slides (poll or question or word cloud)
Easy to Implement Assessment Tool
Pros:
Our nonprofit education team was able to easily set-up and integrate Mentimeter into our virtual workshops to gather feedback and engage our community.
Cons:
I'd like to be able to download a report that highlights the answers from different polls (ie the surveys from three different dates or sites) without having to re-use the same survey.
Mentimeter is the best software for interactive polls and Quizzes.
Comments: My experience with mentimeter has been quite happy. It helped me reach wide range of learners with the use of real time leader board that created enthusiasm in learners.
Pros:
Mentimeter helps me conduct interactive polls and quizzes with pleasant background music to engage with audience . I am quite impressed with the live word cloud creation feature and beautiful visualization which makes it easy to use. It has always been a fun and an interactive experience for me and my learners.
Cons:
1. The font size of options for the questions is too small due to which it is not properly visible to the learners. 2. Purchasing the software as an individual is a little difficult, as some credit cards are not accepted for international payments.
The most creative audience platform is here!
Comments: I have been using Mentimeter in my organization for audience engagement. It helps to set the mood for the session plus the results are visually appealing and helps to connect with the audience in a better way. We use it during our microsoft team meetings and also during virtual sessions. It is the best tool to engage audience in the current remote world.
Pros:
1) Interactive and colorful polling visuals 2) Fast and responsive 3) Ease of use 4) Word clouds is an amazing visual to provide insights 5) Multiple options to ask questions 6) Reponses can be done through web and mobile
Cons:
1) Free version has limited interactivity 2) Uploading presentation from external source is difficult 3) There should be more templates to represent audience response 4) Option for like and dislike should also be there based on the responses
Mentimeter: The Best Poll Application for Classes
Comments: I really like using Mentimeter during online classes. It made my Q&A sessions much easier and heightened my students' engagement.
Pros:
What I really like about Mentimeter is being able to receive real-time answers and insights from the students.
Cons:
What I least like about the software is not being able to save students' comments during live sessions.
Create interactive presentation with Mentimeter
Comments: Really nice. The tool is super easy to use and anybody can really use it to empower their presentations
Pros:
Mentimeter is the first interactive software I find really fun for companies. The first time I used it was during one of our [SENSITIVE CONTENT] presentation. He used Menti to create general interaction during his meeting. It was pretty fun an awesome to see the result appearing live on each of our screens. You can use it in very serious and more decontracted context: really nice.
Cons:
Answers cannot be collected, at least from what I know. It's really a "live" tool and cannot be seen again on replay.
Wonderful LIVE results
Comments: I love Mentimeter because it's a great way to engage my audience and ensure that they feel included in my workshops.
Pros:
I use mentimeter in almost every workshop that I do. With mentimeter, I am able to solicit the audience response and show it in a word cloud LIVE during the presentation. My results and slide don't disappear over time, and I can always duplicate or view a prior slide. I love the options to hide results, to change the number of entries, and to stop and start the polling. Mentimeter also consistently add new features to their platforms, and I'm always happy to try them. Plus, you can use a lot of the features for free.
Cons:
Under the free account, you cannot create a mentimeter slide with a feature too far in advanced; you either get 2 days or 7 days for the presentation mode/slide feature to stay active because the voting code for the presentation becomes inactive after that time period.
Great for interactive presentations
Comments: We have used this product many times and would recommend it to others. It is easy to use, can be accessed from anywhere, and most importantly is user friendly for those who are attending a presentation. Even those who aren’t tech savvy can participate
Pros:
After looking into many interactive presentation softwares, mentimeter came out on top. The thing I liked most about this product is that presentation attendees need not create a login, it is as simple as going to a website and typing in a code. This was a must for my needs. As I used this product, functionality became more clear. One feature that is really beneficial is the presentation shows up on users devices- this allows them to follow along AND not get distracted by other items. It is really nice that you can upload a PowerPoint and incorporate menti questions into your customized template.
Cons:
The free version of this website is very limited, however, menti did give a discount to nonprofits so even on a tight budget, it is affordable.
Taking the concept of interactive to new levels
Comments: Superb tool for polling during presentations
Pros:
First, just to say, I'm glad I came across Mentimeter. Mentimeter is a great presentation tool that allows the presenter to engage and interact with the audience in real-time. It's polling feature is awesome and allows you to set the questions and your audience can give their input using a mobile phone or any other device connected to the Internet. It is an easy-to-use online tool and can be used as a major boost for one meeting and presentation. Everyone out there should use this tool. It's quite fun to use.
Cons:
I have yet to come across a con for Mentimeter. Maybe my vision is a bit blurred and I am failing to see, up to this point, the drawbacks. The only disadvantage I can mention is really related to people, the audience. And how truthful they are with the presentation polls.
Great Quick Response
Pros:
The ability to use this quickly with my students is a huge plus. I enjoy using the word cloud slide to have students place responses that form into a cloud. It is nice that this has an explicit language filter as well.
Cons:
The pricing is expensive for an education app. You can do 2 free slides, but besides that it will be a monthly fee or a yearly fee which is expensive.
Great tool to sense opinions and engage audiences
Pros:
Menti enables everyone to include polls and quizzes into presentations, boosting audience engagement and interactivity.
Cons:
A pay-per-use pricing model would be nice as a subscription is not feasible for those only running a limited number of presentations.
Mentimeter through online teaching
Comments: Great
Pros:
I love it through my teavhing online .My students love it alot
Cons:
Nothing .It is good as general in shape and stylr
Group Interactions at its best
Comments: Interactive Presentations and Polling
Pros:
Great presentation tool that allows the host to engage and interact with the audience in real-time. The polling feature is lovely and allows for the setting of questions and the audience can give their input using a mobile phone or any other device connected to the Internet.
Cons:
No cons for me. But since I have to put something, you can't control , how truthful the audience are with the presentation polls.
An efficient way to get instant feedback
Pros:
It is fast and easy to use. Allows the users to remain anonymous so they can feel more comfortable indicating their opinions. Excellent charts to present the poling of the results which is quite handy to verify how your audience feel about a presentation.
Cons:
There are quite a few bugs: Sometimes the app doesn't remember the event code. There are times when a question cannot be skipped. It is sometimes problematic to access the results from my PC.
