Trint
What Is Trint?
Trint uses artificial intelligence to power its web-based automated transcription platform. Audio and video files are uploaded to Trints online software and then transcribed using automated speech recognition. The Trint Editor is the marriage of a text editor to an audio/video player: the transcribed text is stitched to the audio or video file, making it simple to search, verify and edit the machine-generated transcripts.
Who Uses Trint?
Individuals/institutions with needs to transcribe audio and video content effectively and efficiently.

Reviews of Trint
Mind-blowing Software for Transcription of files across Multiple Accents!
Comments: I have enjoyed uploading files and having them full transcribed in 15 minutes. I could never be able to do that with just my Virtual Assistant in that short an amount of time.
Pros:
I love, love , Love how Trint recognises speech on a super wide range of accents. I didn't think I could risk a heavy Ugandan accent on the Trint AI and yet it went ahead and accurately transcribed every single word! Ridiculously Blown away!
Cons:
The AI isn't perfect. I would wish that it would transcribe with 100 percent accuracy. Other than that it;s pretty fair for a bot.
I loved using Trint every day
Pros:
Easy to use, fast, few spelling errors, and saves a lot of time, It does not require much software modification
Cons:
There is nothing missing in the program, only its price is high
Inaccurate, clumsy, low grade and expensive transcription service (compared to others).
Comments: We tried three different transcription services: Rev, Descript and Trint. Trint was the worst by a long shot and the most expensive. We tested them all first because we need fast and accurate transcripts. You can do this as well. Upload a file with multiple speakers in all three and check the results. Rev is the most accurate, it differentiates between speakers and has global cleanup (ripple changing speakers throughout the document, amalgamating speakers, etc) Rev also puts transcripts into paragraphs. Descript is more accurate then Trint but not nearly as good as Rev. And Rev's human transcriptions are faster, cheaper and more accurate than Trint as well.Trint costs $75/month, Rev is $29/month. Descript is $24/month but doesn't have the same tools as Rev or Trint, although it does interface with some editing systems. And Rev offers a pay as you go whereas the other two do not have this option. This is great because if you're working on an intense project and then nothing you can do a month or two. If you're working on a small project and just need a few transcripts, pay as you go is a better option. If you need a LOT of transcripts and great tools for editing, Rev is way better and you'll save money going for an annual subcription.Overall, Rev is just so much more accurate and it's way more cost effective.
Pros:
Not much, to be honest. The customer service is pretty good (they write you back when you have problems).
Cons:
1) it can't differentiate between speakers very well at all2) it puts an entire transcript into one long piece, not paragraph breaks (even when there are two second pauses between sections3) it takes longer to do automatic transcripts that its counterparts (very slow compared to its competitors)4) it's the most expensive transcription service online we've ever found (double or triple in most cases)5) the interface and search tools are clumsy6) the navigation on the site in not intuitive (takes a long time to learn where things are)7) many of the tools are awkward to use or non-sensical in how they work
Great Tool for Video Editors
Pros:
I work professionally as a video editor, and we regularly need to transcribe videos, and then use the transcriptions to create subtitles for our videos. This software is fantastic for just this, and significantly cuts down on the time it takes to create those subtitles. Once Trint has transcribed the audio or video file you have uploaded, you can export a txt file that can be directly imported into a SubCap effect in Avid. As long as you've set the Timecode alignment correctly in Trint, the subtitles will align perfectly with the video in the Avid timeline. Saves me SO much time.
Cons:
I use Avid Media Composer for editing, and it took a bit of trial and error to understand the correct file type and settings I needed to select in Trint that would import seamlessly into the SubCap effect in Avid. But once I figured it out, I knew what I needed to use going forward. There also does seem to be some sort of glitch where occasionally random lines are missing from the captions in the Avid timeline, but I'm unclear as of right now as to whether I can attribute this to Trint or Avid. It's a minor error and overall I LOVE this software!

I couldn't work without Trint
Pros:
Being a freelancer, transcribing interviews takes a lot of time. Trint made my life much easier. And it is perfect in difficult cases, f.i. if you have to work with a not so good interpreter in a language that you don't know or don't know enough. I was able to correct bad Russian and Japanese translations via using print and then deepl. Perfect combination.
Cons:
I would be great if one could use copy and paste...
Terrible software
Pros:
The speed of the transcription was good and the platform was easy to navigate around.
Cons:
The Dutch transcriptions (I can't talk about other languages) of Trint were terrible. The transcriptions contained mistakes in every sentence and the software created new sentences about topics I did not even discuss (e.g. my favourite soccer/football club and their former head coach...funny, but I have no clue where that came from). I am better off doing a transcription myself than to use this software. Very disappointed.

Invaluable tool for interview transcription
Comments: I'm a PhD candidate (in my final year) and a qualitative researcher. I heard about Trint from a fellow PhD student. I use interviews as the main basis for my research and it's incredible to be able to get a draft transcript back from Trint in minutes. Editing of the text is needed to pick up subtle inaccuracies but the interface for doing that work is very easy to use. In the two years I've been using Trint, the accuracy has improved substantially, meaning I now spend less time editing. Other improvements too over the past two years have substantially enhanced my work.
Pros:
Intuitive platform, high degree of accuracy, good customer support.
Cons:
An optional spelling checker would be great but it's a minor quibble, because the benefits of using this technology far outweigh minor inconveniences. The cost is high for a full-time student but the value is priceless.
Unlimited is very limited
Comments: I think their support people are trained to give answers that are not specific and they constantly tell you to buy the annual option so you don't get banned. I am certain I'd get banned within a month of paying out $1,000. Buyer beware. It's not unlimited, not even close.
Pros:
Trint has a nice interface. It's fairly easy to use and does a very good job transcribing pre-recorded content with no training.
Cons:
Where do I start? Their API needs a lot of work. You can't use a dictionary. You can't delete files once you are done with them. Their idea of unlimited is actually quite limited. We have a lot of files that need transcribing every day. (about 30) and this was enough to get us banned within a week. I didn't even use the software the first month at all. When I asked their support department about paying for additional support they kept giving bizarre answers with no specifics. When pressured again, they offered me a $11,000 enterprise option. Why would I do that? I can use Google or Amazon for way less.
Trint, the Software for Interviews and Research
Pros:
- I was amazed with the programs ability to record in text form an entire audio record dictation - Its like your own typing assistant - Allows you to edit the text to fix errors - Automatically saves your progress every few seconds - Allows you to alter speed to dictation and audio
Cons:
- Expensive - Sometimes incorrectly records what a subject says - Doesn't implement correct grammar and punctuation - Doesn't work well with slow internet speed or older computer
Pros & Cons of Trent
Pros:
I love all of the options in the interface! The waveform, syncing the playback to the cursor, and having the video in the bottom corner are all great. Plus, I'm so glad I can playback at varying speeds.
Cons:
AI transcription is not as accurate as I'd like, but I understand it's a limited system. I'd also like a way to disable the timecode generation when copying and pasting text out of Trint.
Robust transcription platform
Pros:
This is a lifesaver app for people like me who have to transcribe huge amounts of meetings. I don’t like not take notes, but I do like to have accurate meeting minutes. Trint does that job.
Cons:
I have the impression that other languages perform less good than English.
I cancelled my service and continued to be billed without notice
Comments: Unethical, one of the most unprofessional companies I've ever trusted with my personal information.
Pros:
No pros. I had a horrible experience with not only this software but the company its self has awful business ethics and will continue to charge you even after cancelling your subscription.
Cons:
The experience I least liked was cancelling my subscription and then also requesting my account to be deleted along with my account data. I received successful confirmation for both of those requests, yet I check my bank statements and they have been gladly charging me regardless of either of those requests. I CANNOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH, DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY WITH YOUR PAYMENT INFORMATION. They will charge you and then rely on the improbability that you actually notice or take the time to get your money back.

Hi Hunter, I'm really sorry you've had this experience, we understand how frustrating this must have been. I can see on our records that we refunded the payment on the same day as you were charged but if you'd like to email [email protected] to discuss this further then we'd be happy to chat.
A great tool
Comments: interview transcription prior to editing is now much quicker thanks to Trint
Pros:
Trint makes it possible for me to transcribe and edit our interviews in a reasonably short period of time. My life would be harder without it.
Cons:
i dont have any comments about this as it works well
Great product with good quality audio
Comments: Gets the job done if you have patience
Pros:
With good audio you get good transscripts
Cons:
Vocabulary limited Editing cumbersome The word counts do time code gets weird after editing the text
Trint makes transcribing videos easy.
Comments: Great software and makes it easy to transcribe videos.
Pros:
It's an easy software to use even without experience in video editing or transcription. Even when I logged in for the first time I found it easy to navigate and do what I needed.
Cons:
I can't actually think of anything that was negative with my experience. Maybe more tagging capabilities so you can work more with teammates.
A good start.
Pros:
The platform itself is pretty user-friendly and simple to use.
Cons:
The transcriptions themselves require considerable manual editing to be accurate.
buono se...
Pros:
presenta gli stessi vantaggi dei software di traduzione automatica...
Cons:
e anche gli stessi difetti: prova gratuita limitata, risultati che lasciano a desiderare, a pagamento per ottenere risultati privi di errori...
