Ignition
What Is Ignition?
Ignition is a cross-platform, mobile-responsive, web-based SCADA solution that acts as a hub for everything on your plant floor. It’s also an IIoT solution that can use the MQTT publish and subscribe protocol, which streamlines data collection, facilitates Digital Transformation, and more.
Ignition has three editions: standard Ignition, Ignition Edge, and Ignition Cloud Edition. Standard Ignition enables you to cost-effectively and remotely control processes, track, display, and analyze data, use an unlimited amount of tags and clients, create HMIs, generate reports, and connect to SQL databases. Ignition Edge turns any field device into a MQTT-enabled edge gateway and enables HMI visualization. Ignition Cloud Edition adds the flexibility of the cloud with a pay-as-you-go plan available on many cloud providers.
The Ignition platform is trusted by some of the most iconic brands in the world, including Coca-Cola, Starbucks, Johnson & Johnson, Pfizer, Sierra Nevada Brewing, and many more.
Who Uses Ignition?
Ignition has a customer base in over 100 countries. 57% of Fortune 100 and 44% of Fortune 500 companies use Ignition in industries such as manufacturing, oil and gas, food and beverage, and more.

Reviews of Ignition
You can skip the free trial. Just buy it.
Pros:
I used Ignition for an HMI project, with a SCADA implementation in the background. In my opinion, Ignition has no real competition right now in the SCADA space. There may be others who are arguably better at one specific thing, but no other package comes close to the overall value Ignition provides. You should absolutely be looking to learn it especially due to the material available online. The HMI are not super fancy but will get the job done. You can design fully optimized mobile interfaces for operators to use on your factory floor.
Cons:
It could have updated more often. Also, I believe the free license could be longer. Nowdays, you only have a 2 hours free license.
Ignition just works
Pros:
Ignition is just an easy to start on platform that just works. It's really a joy to develop on and the applications are so stable. I also like that the price is so much lower then those big companies.
Cons:
I have none to be honest. It's not perfect, but definitely best thing out there.
Good Software but Worst Customer Support
Comments: We have historical data for anything starting from Cycle time to Push buttons.
Pros:
The features you can have which helps you do anything you want with the Data from PLC,CNC's etc.
Cons:
Software has two options Vision and Perspective but both do not have same flexibility. Their Customer care is always busy with wait times of hours. Even if you pay for it you would not get premium service which does not justify if you need immediate help.
Amazing automated billing and payments software
Comments: Been using it since ~2018/2019 and absolutely love it. Their Customer Service/Support is amazing, and we've always had awesome Account Managers.
Pros:
The automated payment process, which is combined with the engagement letter.
Cons:
The New Proposal Editor is much more complex than the original.
Ignition by Inductive Automation works!
Comments: I often describe Ignition as the swiss army knife of SCADA integration. With its modular licensing it is very cost-effective tailored to specific project needs.
Pros:
A modular SCADA gateway system that allows integrating different protocols (OPC, MQQT, Modbus, gateway connections to name a few) into one uniform system and aggregate data via Ignition provided component as well as scripting and python coding.
Cons:
Nothing major really. I've ran into some issues in the past mostly 3rd party related. Though, 3rd party as well as Ignition's support was very helpful to provide custom solutions.
Best in Class
Pros:
It’s a SCADA based on an unlimited model. No tag limit. Based on open source technology and future proof software. Ready for 4.0 solutions.
Cons:
All manuals are in English but still very well explained.
